Jio IPO GMP Today, Allotment Status and Listing Date

The Jio IPO GMP was around ₹247–₹250 per share on Sunday, October 25, 2026, according to grey market trackers. That points to a possible listing price near ₹1,366–₹1,369, roughly 22% above the ₹1,119 issue price. Allotment is due Monday, October 26, and the shares are scheduled to list on NSE and BSE on Wednesday, October 28.

If you applied for the Jio Platforms IPO, you’re probably checking the grey market premium every few hours like I am. It’s one of the biggest IPOs India has ever seen, and the excitement is real. But the GMP isn’t official, and there’s a lot of noise out there. So here’s what’s actually confirmed, what’s just market chatter, and what you should do over the next three days.

Jio Platforms IPO: Key facts

  • Issue size: about ₹30,213 crore, all fresh shares (no offer for sale)
  • Price band: ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share
  • Final issue price: ₹1,119 (top of the band), as confirmed in Reliance’s exchange filing dated October 24, 2026
  • Lot size: 12 shares, so the minimum retail bid was ₹13,428
  • Bidding window: October 21 to October 23, 2026
  • Overall subscription: 22.19 times (QIB 70.55x, NII 14x, retail 2.72x, employees 2.93x, shareholders 7.60x)
  • Basis of allotment: Monday, October 26, 2026
  • Refunds and demat credit: Tuesday, October 27, 2026
  • Listing: Wednesday, October 28, 2026, on NSE and BSE (trading expected to start at 10 AM IST)
  • Registrar: KFin Technologies
  • GMP (unofficial): about ₹247–₹250 as of October 25 afternoon

What is the Jio IPO GMP right now?

On Sunday, October 25, most trackers put the Jio IPO GMP between ₹247 and ₹250. Mint reported a GMP of ₹250 at 1 PM that day, which works out to an estimated listing price of ₹1,369 (₹1,119 + ₹250), a gain of about 22.3%.

The interesting part is how steady it has been. Over the last couple of weeks, the GMP mostly stayed in the ₹235–₹275 range, with a brief high of about ₹273 around October 20. It dipped slightly during bidding days and settled near ₹245–₹250 after the issue closed. In my experience, a GMP that stays flat after a huge subscription is a calmer sign than one that swings wildly.

Quick math: what a 22% premium means for one lot

If you get one lot of 12 shares and the stock lists exactly where the GMP suggests, here’s the rough picture:

  • You paid: 12 × ₹1,119 = ₹13,428
  • Value at ₹1,369: 12 × ₹1,369 = ₹16,428
  • Paper gain: about ₹3,000 before brokerage and taxes

Remember, that’s a “what if.” The real opening price will be decided in the special pre-open session on listing day, not by the grey market.

Why you shouldn’t treat GMP as a promise

I’ll be honest here, because I see a lot of people getting carried away. GMP is an unofficial number traded in an unregulated market. SEBI doesn’t recognise it, the exchanges don’t publish it, and nobody is bound by it.

Here’s why it can go wrong:

  • Market mood can flip. Indian indices ended lower on Friday, October 23, after crude oil prices rose. If global markets have a rough start to the week, listing day can feel very different.
  • Big IPOs have disappointed before. The Hindu pointed out that analysts are flagging valuation concerns, with past examples like the Reliance Power IPO in 2008, which saw huge demand and then a weak debut.
  • Different sources show different GMPs. Even on the same day, numbers vary by ₹5–₹10 between trackers. That alone tells you it’s not precise.

So use the GMP as a mood meter, not a price target.

How big was the demand?

Pretty massive. The issue was fully subscribed within about 100 minutes of opening on day one, and by the end it had received bids for more than 421 crore shares against roughly 19.75 crore on offer. According to The Hindu, total demand crossed ₹7 lakh crore and the IPO drew more than one crore applications.

Most of the heat came from big institutions. The QIB portion alone was booked over 70 times. Before the issue opened, 212 anchor investors had already picked up shares worth about ₹8,110 crore at ₹1,119.

Retail demand was solid but much smaller at 2.72 times. That’s actually good news if you applied as a retail investor, because your odds of getting a lot are better than in those small IPOs that get booked 200 times.

Where is the money going?

This was a fully fresh issue, so the money goes to the company, not to existing shareholders selling out. As per NDTV Profit, up to ₹27,500 crore will be used to repay borrowings at Reliance Jio Infocomm, Jio’s telecom arm. The rest is for general growth spending and working capital. Reliance Industries holds about a 66.4% stake in Jio Platforms.

How to check Jio IPO allotment status

The basis of allotment is due on Monday, October 26. Status usually shows up on the registrar’s site first, often in the evening. Here are the three places to check:

1. KFin Technologies (registrar)

  1. Go to the KFin IPO status page (ipostatus.kfintech.com).
  2. Pick “Jio Platforms Limited” from the dropdown. It only appears once allotment is finalised.
  3. Choose PAN, application number, or demat account (DP ID/Client ID).
  4. Enter your details, fill the captcha and submit.

2. BSE

Open the “Status of Issue Application” page on bseindia.com, select Equity, choose the issue name and enter your PAN or application number.

3. NSE

Use the “Verify IPO bid/allotment details” page on nseindia.com with your PAN and application number.

Simple tip: check your bank’s UPI mandate too. If the blocked money gets debited, you got shares. If the block is released on October 27, you didn’t.

What should you do before listing day?

This isn’t financial advice, just how I think about it:

  • If you got shares: decide your plan before October 28. Are you holding Jio for the long term, or booking listing gains? Writing it down stops you from panicking at 10 AM.
  • If you didn’t get shares: don’t rush to buy at the open just because of the buzz. Listing-day prices can be jumpy. Watching for a few days won’t hurt.
  • Watch the wider market: oil prices and global cues matter. I covered a recent example of that in my post on the Dow Jones falling as oil crossed $100.
